Hi all, As described above, each time I start my PC, I get limited Internet connectivity until I uninstall the device and re-add it using Scan for Hardware Changes. After that it works great. I am however able to connect using my wireless adapter without uninstalling anything. Bizarrely the connection seems to partially work. Steam signs in and I get updates on what my friends are doing. No game updates download though, and webpages fail to load. Even in the Steam app, store pages fail to load.
I make use of the Tunnelbear VPN. Installed it about a week ago with Windows 10, though the issue only started a few days ago so I don't think it's related. Have tried: - Disabling Windows updating drivers automatically before uninstalling device to potentially avoid broken drivers - Manually updating drivers from Intel - Uninstalling TunnelBear - Fiddling with various settings as recommended in articles where people experienced connectivity issues Fairly frustrated here as I have to assume a Windows update broke something. Help would be appreciated, thanks. Hi, Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

You wrote '.as I have to assume a Windows update broke something'. Windows 10 didn't broke anything. Intel, as vendor of your network chip, doesn't want to develop driver for 82579V Gigabit and that is causing issue on your side. Probably because it is an older chip and second, they (Intel )want you to buy the latest their network product, at least that's how they make money by selling more stuff. Call Intel, complain about 82579V Gigabyte, ask them why they do not develop updated driver that works on Win 10.
Microsoft, for sure, is not going to develop drivers for them. DON'T BLAME MICROSOFT FOR OTHER VENDOR failures. They (Intel) had plenty of time to develop drivers but Intel chose not to do that for this particular model. If many people complain to them and telling them they will switch to other manufacturer then they may do something about it. I had same network chip onboard, disabled it, got a new network card from different manufacturer (for sure will not be from Intel anymore), and everything is fine now. Life is great with WIN 10 now. Go Win 10!!!!
